Raseborg & Ekenäs
Our tips
Raseborg
A city full of history
Raseborg has several historical sights. The town of Ekenäs was founded in the 16th century and much of the buildings in the old town date from the 19th and even 18th centuries. Midsummer parties, medieval ancient markets and summer theater performances are held in the ruins of Raseborg Castle.
Nature
An outdoor enthusiast’s dream
Nature can be enjoyed in many different ways. There is a nature park area a few kilometers away, and you can go jogging in the stunning archipelago scenery. See the Raseborg website for more information on nature attractions.
Culture
Experience something different
The Ekta Museum Center has high-quality, changing exhibitions, and the Kaleria Cultural Center hosts weekly events, such as music and theater performances. Sympathetic cinema Bio Forum is the oldest still operating cinema in Finland!
Boats and kayaking
Experience the sea yourself
Through us, you can, for example, go boating or kayaking, or you can book a fishing trip or a guided tour of the archipelago. Guided tours are given by Matti Piirainen, who has 25 years of experience in guided tours and hiking and fishing are very close to his heart. He offers e.g. a guided boat trip to the source of Dagmar. You can also go to the sea by hovercraft, and in winter you can go skiing on the ice.
Iron works
Beautiful history
The historical iron works of Fiskars, Billnäs, Antskog, Mustio and Åminnefors are also located in Raseborg. Note: it might take the whole day while exploring all these.
